Among the most anticipated elements to unpack with the Google Nexus 2016 release date are the feature upgrades cooked up with the new Android, which rumors say will be version 7.0 or Android N. Being the showcase tool of the upcoming operating system, the next Nexus is poised to get significant user interface changes all thanks to what the Marshmallow sequel is set to deliver.
Earlier, it was suggested that Android N will remove the App Drawer icon from the home screen purportedly for quicker navigation. The move is seen to render the stock Android quite similar to that of the iOS-powered iPhone, in which app icons are located by default on the device home screen and can be organized by dragging and dropping them on folders.
This particular rumor is met by mixed reactions and likely it will be the same for more of the upcoming adjustments that Google is supposedly planning to implement with the simultaneous debut of the Nexus 2016 family of handsets and Android N. Mostly, the UI changes will involve the Notification and the Quick Settings panel, Android Police reported.
New Notifications look and design
In a mock up shared by Android Police, Google apparently plans to further tone down the Notifications that users can access by swiping down on their device screen, in keeping with the Material Design template. In Android N, the render will be more of black and white with the "app icons smaller and less obvious."
The report added that the new Notifications "are full-width and the separation between items is less distinct." Checking on the last version, the treatment saw the Notifications separated by easy to see demarcation lines.
Personalized Quick Settings
The same report also called attention on what appears as the new Quick Settings that Android N is packed with. It will be in full-width render too and the downward swipe to pull up the feature will be characterized by a smoother animation effect.
Google has also decided to afford users more configuration control of the panel with the new pagination feature. This indicates that the Quick Settings can be customized, in which users can put together the more frequently control keys on the main panel or page one and locate the others to a secondary panel. Quick Settings page two is accessed by swiping the panel to the right.
Android Police made clear that the Android N features it exclusively accessed are far from the final cut, which means that more changes and polishing are set to be applied before the software gets to be introduced. And that is expected to happen in late May or early June this year via the Google I/O Developers Conference.
In the same event, Google is also likely to provide details on its Nexus 2016 release date plans, which rumors say will see the eventual rollout of Pure Android flagships - a 7-inch tablet from Huawei and two smartphones from HTC.
