Korean-pop girl group sensation 2ne1 is coming back at some time this year, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
It has been well over two years since the release their second album 'Crush,' and yet 2ne1 has remained inactive in the Korean music up to now.
But with the positive feedback generated by their surprise appearance in the 2015 MAMA awards, YG Entertainment is now preparing to bring Dara, CL, Minzy and the returning Park Bom back together for another album.
"In an interview with YG CEO Yang Hyun-suk before, he said that after CL's solo promotions for her American debut, they are going to think of 2NE1's comeback. Additionally, he also said that the company is giving the group's members time to do their solo activities especially for Park Bom to have some time for personal reflection regarding the controversies she faced (H/t YG United).
Another indicator of 2ne1 comeback this year is the reported frequent appearance of 2ne1 members at the Entertainment company headquarter. Between February 1 and February 17, YG United reported that Park Bom, whose career was rocked with drug abuse controversy a year ago, was spotted several times outside the building.
Moreover, no other than YG Entertainment dancer Jappollonia confirmed that 2ne1 will be making their comeback later this year.
