It appears that those who said Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez is going to have a great career have predicted her fate in show business correctly. The Miss Universe 2015 runner-up to Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach is reportedly added to the cast of the Vin Diesel starrer "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage."
Sources connected with the action sequel's production told TMZ that Gutierrez has recently signed a deal to join Diesel in the film set to be released on Jan. 20, 2017. The Colombian beauty queen is said to be playing the title character's love interest.
In addition, the sources revealed that Gutierrez will be in six scenes with three-page dialogues. They added that she was going to the Dominican Republic to start filming her first movie role.
What has been confirmed is that UFC superstar Conor McGregor, 27, is set to make his debut as an actor in starrer "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage." Details about his role are still under wraps.
This does not mean, however, that McGregor is quitting mixed martial arts as he is set to fight Nate Diaz as a UFC 196 replacement in welterweight match-up . Recently, UFC President Dana White told MMA Junkie, "Conor McGregor is moving from 145 pounds to 170 pounds to fight Nate Diaz."
It appears that the people behind the casting of "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" are promoting diversity. It starts with its lead actor who is of English, German and Scottish descent along with McGregor, who is Irish, and Gutierrez, who is Colombian.
African-American actors Samuel L. Jackson and Ice Cube are part of the cast as Agent Augustus Eugene Gibbons and Darius Stone, respectively. Australian actress Ruby Rose, who is known for playing Stella Carlin in "Orange is the New Black," will play a character named Adele in the film.
In addition, several Asian actors are in the "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage." Among them are Indian actress Deepika Padukone, Hong Kong Chinese actor Donnie Yen, Thai actor Tony Jaa and Canadian-Chinese actor Kris Wu.
