Powerhouse team Real Madrid CF (17-4-6, 57 points) will look to build a new winning streak as they face hard-nosed squad Celta Vigo (12-9-6, 42 points) at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium on Saturday, March 5th in a 2015-2016 La Liga season game.
Real Madrid is coming off a conventional 3-1 road conquest of cellar-dwelling club Levante UD at the Estadi Ciutat de València on Wednesday to snap a two-game winless slide, as reported by SkySports.
Three-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo netted the opening goal at the 34th minute via a penalty kick before newcomer striker Borja Mayoral struck the ball onto Levante goalie Diego Marino for an own goal four minutes later.
Brazilian forward Deyverson scored a goal for Les Granotes one minute after Marino's own goal to make it 2-1 at the half time break, still in favor of Los Blancos.
Both teams pumped up the defense in the second half as the game went scoreless the rest of the way until Zinedine Zidane's boys sealed the game in injury time with a soft, close range shot from midfielder Isco to make sure Real gets the three points in the overall standings.
Real remains at the third spot of the league table, four points behind second-running team Atletico Madrid and eleven points adrift of league leaders and defending champions Barcelona.
Meanwhile, Celta Vigo pushed fourth-running Villarreal CF to a goalless draw at their home field of Estadio Municipal de Balaídos also on Wednesday, as per ESPN.
It was the third consecutive undefeated game for Os Célticos following their wins over Eibar, 3-2, and Getafe, 1-0, during the previous two matchdays.
The Sky Blues prevented Villarreal from overtaking Real Madrid in the overall standings because of the draw, while Eduardo Berizzo's squad also switched places with Sevilla in the league table, slipping down to the sixth spot, two points behind the Sevillistas.
The predicted result is a close 2-1 victory for Real Madrid. The Celts will give them a tough game, but Los Vikingos will prevail.
