Here is the new Android Marshmallow release news for HTC Desire 816, One M8, Butterfly 3, One M9, Desire 826 and other devices for US carriers.
The HTC One M8 (Google Play Edition) received the latest Marshmallow update in November 2015. The unlocked versions of the device in the United States got the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in December last year.
On the other hand, Sprint's HTC One M8 received the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in January this year. Now according to recent reports, the rollout of the Android 6.0 M is continuing with T-Mobile and Verizon versions of the handset next in line.
HTC's Mo Versi said on Twitter that the Android M updates for T-Mobile and Verizon HTC One M8 devices have got technical approval, with the OTA update to be pushed out to owners on March 7, 2016.
Now, the mobile carrier AT&T remains the only carrier in the US that has not got approval to release the Android 6.0 Marshmallow for its versions of the phone.
HTC One M8, which was released in March 2014, features a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 pixels x 1920 pixels.
The HTC smartphone, which weighs 160 grams, packs a 2600mAh non removable battery. The One M8 measures 146.36mm x 70.60mm x 9.35mm.
The device is powered by 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset and comes with 2GB of RAM. Moreover, it has 16GB of internal storage that users can expand to 128GB via a microSD card slot. The One M8 sports a 5 MP front camera for selfies and a 4-Ultrapixel primary camera on the back, according to a report from Digital Trends.
Various reports suggest that the mobile carrier Verizon has rolled out Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to HTC One M9. Also, T-Mobile subscribers have got their own HTC One M9 Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.
Other HTC devices that will get the latest update are HTC One E9, HTC One ME, HTC One M8 EYE, HTC One E8, HTC Desire 826, HTC Desire 820, HTC Desire 816 and HTC Butterfly 3.
Furthermore, several reports suggest that the Desire EYE phones will get the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update soon. However, the update will first come to European phones.
