LeBron James spent his off day in Miami, because of the weather and to visit old friend Dwyane Wade. But their history was enough to blow up the internet.
In a previous report, the Instagram posts, the reaction and the cryptic tweets were presented, but the speculation did not end, and new angles are being explored.
While the speculations were on LeBron leaving Cleveland again because their team is not playing well (although they are at the top of the Eastern Conference), there was one angle that should have been explored as well-that this time, Dwyane Wade would move to Cleveland and return the favor to his buddy.
It may sound crazy but even analyst and former NBA player Jalen Rose mentioned the possibility in his Jalen and Jacoby podcast.
"If Dwyane Wade ever leaves Miami, it's 100% going to be to play with LeBron James in Cleveland," Rose said. "It's going to be interesting."
There would be objections from the Heat fans-that Wade is a Heat "lifer" and he was drafted by Miami and he is a well-loved figure in the community. Except for the fact that he won a title with Miami before James came in, all of those same statements applied to LeBron before he chose to leave Cleveland, since Miami was in a better position to make a title run. Ohio is even LeBron's home state, and that was not in play for Wade.
With the roles reversed and the Cavs being the dominant team, why would Wade not want to join his old friend? Technically, both Wade and James are free agents in the summer so this could swing either way.
However, the Heat may already have a different game plan with a different person they want to pursue. Miami has cap issues, specifically at the end of the season, they will have to choose between Dwyane Wade and center Hassan Whiteside. Most had them choosing Wade, for all the reasons listed above.
The Miami Herald has declared that the Heat are indeed pursuing Kevin Durant. "One thing is clear: The Heat intend to make a long-shot bid to lure Durant, who sold his Miami condo earlier this year," The Herald's Barry Jackson said.
Another important Miami factor is Chris Bosh's health condition. The recurring blood clot condition has a worst case scenario that could force him to retire. It would be a tragic end to his otherwise successful career and if that happens, Wade might leave and signify the end of the Big Three era.
These are all conditional speculations based on what the playoffs might bring. If the Cavs win the title, they would probably back off on making any of the rumored changes. If they fall short and the Heat face a worst case scenario with Bosh, the off-season for both cities would be pivotal.
