Two teams from both ends of the 2015-2016 Premier League table, bottom-dwelling squad Aston Villa FC (3-19-7, 16 points) and top contender Tottenham Hotspur FC (15-4-10, 55 points), are scheduled to face each other at the White Hart Lane on March 5th, Saturday.
Aston Villa continued its struggles in the English top flight this season as they remain in the cellar of the overall standings with its fourth straight loss and fifth one in their last six outings.
The Villans were crushed by contending team Manchester City, 0-4, at the Etihad Stadium last Saturday, as per BBC Sport.
Argentine forward Sergio Agüero led the Citizen's strike with a double at the 50th and 60th minutes of the match. Defensive midfielder Yaya Touré opened the scoring at the 48th while winger Raheem Sterling sealed it with a goal at the 66th to complete City's four-goal haul.
The Claret and Blue Army managed to keep things scoreless in the whole of the first half as they thwarted all of City's opportunities on goal in the first 45 minutes despite not controlling the ball more than the hosts.
However, the flood gates suddenly opened in the second half for City and the visitors could not contain it anymore.
Meanwhile, Tottenham settled for a 2-2 draw against third-running team Arsenal FC at the White Hart Lane also last Saturday, as reported by SkySports.
The Spurs were not able to take advantage of the 10-man squad of head coach Arsene Wenger after midfielder Francis Coquelin was sent off at the 55th for a second yellow card following his foul on Harry Kane.
The Gunners drew first blood in the game via an excellent back-heel finish by midfielder Aaron Ramsey at the 39th to give his team the lead after the first half, 1-0.
Mauricio Pochettino's squad netted two quick goals in the second half, courtesy of defender Toby Alderweireld and striker Kane at the 60th and 62nd minutes, to overtake Arsenal after Coquelin was sent off the pitch.
However, Arsenal salvaged the draw with a goal from comebacking Chilean winger Alexis Sánchez at the 76th to share the point with the current second placers.
The predicted result is a 3-1 victory for Tottenham Hotspur, bouncing back from their poor performance against Arsenal during the previous matchday.
