The mobile carrier T-Mobile was the first to roll out Android Marshmallow update to Samsung Galaxy S6. Now, according to latest reports, Sprint is rolling out the update to the users of this flagship.
At present, the device is receiving the build number G920PVPU3CPB6 of the Android 6.0 M. Users should connect to a wireless network if they have a limited data plan because the update weighs 1235.87 MB.
The update brings new features such as better app permissions, Direct Share, Doze and Now on Tap.
Samsung Galaxy S6 users should get the update OTA. Users who have not been notified yet can check the availability of the Android Marshmallow update by going to their phone's Settings menu > About device > Software update.
Furthermore, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is receiving the second round of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update in South Korea.
The mobile carrier Verizon has upgraded the Note 5 smartphone to the latest operating system; however, other mobile carriers have not announced their plans to roll out the Android Marshmallow update soon.
According to many reports, the owners from South Korea have begun getting the second Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update. The update has the build number N920LKLU2BPB2, SamMobile reported.
Reports also suggest that the bugs that have been reported by the users who installed the Android 6.0 over-the-air update has been fixed.
Meanwhile, according to a Slash Gear report, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update is now rolling out to Samsung Galaxy S7.
The Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update has build number XXU1APAW. The firmware update is compatible with the Galaxy S7(model number SM-G930F).
At present, the update is only available for units in the United Kingdom.
Also, the Android Marshmallow update will be rolled out in phases, therefore, some Samsung Galaxy S7 users in other regions may have to wait. Users can install the Android M update using the Samsung KIES desktop tool.
Another way to install the update on Samsung device is through the use of the ODIN tool. But users of Samsung Galaxy S7 should be extra careful when installing the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update because this is an unofficial method.
