Google Wallet partnered with WePay to install its Instant Buy API in 200,000 online retailers, according to Venture Beat.
Payment processor WePay can accommodate transactions such as paying for invoices and purchasing products. This partnership means that WePay clients can now use Google Wallet to transact with digital stores. The process is completed with just two clicks, which is the same with how customers transact with online retailers through the use of PayPal.
Payments for Google Business Development head Steve Klebe said that Google Wallet together with WePay can now reach out to more clients and help small businesses make and accept payments via their handsets.
WePay vice president Richard Aberman said that the project is the expression of Google Wallet's commitment to provide the service to more people. Aberman added that the WePay is excited to be the first company to use the integration.
Google Wallet's initiative is driven by the fact that people are having a difficult time paying for their bills using their mobile phones. Checking emails and reading invoices are easy tasks but the paying and purchasing is a stressful process, Tech Crunch reported.
Although a total of 70 percent customers check their invoice via their mobile devices, only an estimated 20 percent actually pay for the bills via the same gadget. Challenges such as the difficulty of entering the credit card number on the mobile device hinder customers from completing their transactions.
CEO of InvoiceASAP revealed that they want customers to experience less hassle in purchasing and paying online. These types of transactions should be made easier.
Before Google Pay was launched, Apple Pay was already making headlines for faster transactions. Apple Pay was also branded as a secured service, therefore, Google has a lot to live up to. Reports say that Google should thank Apple for paving the way so that the former could enter into the field of online payment.
Google Play has been integrated to Fresh Books, Meetup and GoFund Me.
