Based on various media reports, it can be assumed that Higgins' final rose ceremony turns out to be a high-on-drama event with several emotional moments. According to Us Weekly, before Higgins proposed his fiancée, he sought permission from the bachelorette's father on the call. And it seems, the approval made him jump with joy.
Higgins "cried out and pumped his fist in the air," an insider told the abovementioned publication. The anonymous source also managed to find out Higgins' words to the winner of the final rose when she arrived at the proposal spot in Jamaica.
"Ben told her she's the most beautiful woman and he wants to wake up next to her every morning," the insider claims. "She said, 'I'm the luckiest girl!'" the bachelorette replied.
Following which, the bachelor went down on one knee to ask for the bachelorette's hand. He presented her a Neil Lane "3-carat emerald-cut diamond set in platinum" ring worth $100,000. The finalists reportedly accepted the proposal and said yes. It is reported that the joyous Higgins "whisked his fiancée off her feet and carried her away."
According to Reality Steve, the lucky lady or the winner of "The Bachelor" Season 20 (2016) is Lauren Bushnell. Higgins apparently dumped JoJo Fletcher and got engaged to Bushnell.
In addition, Life & Style Magazine revealed that the proposal happened on one of the hottest days of the whole week and the temperature touched about 90 degrees. The weather was reportedly "uncomfortable for everyone."
As for the runner-up, she was devastated when she found out about Higgins decision. Fans know that the bachelor said "I love you" to both the finalists during fantasy suite dates. So, it is obvious that the rejected bachelorette felt like she was blindsided.
The source claims that Higgins and his fiancée spent the entire night at the oceanfront Brown Shuggah villa after the engagement. As for the runner-up, she reportedly "stayed in her room all night with one of the producers while the rest of the crew had a loud wrap party right outside."
