Sources close of the game developer company via IR indicate that "GTA 6" will possible premiere in 2019 or 2020, and it will have full virtual reality compatibility. In case this turns out true, VR gaming would have taken a major step in the right direction.

In an interview with Develop, Rockstar president Leslie Benzies revealed that the company has put in a fair amount of thought as to the direction they are taking. According to Leslie, the developer has a ton of ideas, about half a century's worth to be precise.

When asked about the future of Rockstar Games, the president replied emphatically, "We've got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do. We don't know what GTA 6 will be, but we've got some ideas."

Apart from the virtual reality layer that would accompany the game, further rumors indicate that "GTA 6" may in fact include more weapons and increase number of missions, which depend on the sky as opposed to land, since players appear to have taken a liking to the flight aspects of "GTA."

It is also rumored that Rockstar will allow gamers to explore a larger world. Suggestions show that "GTA 6" could include all the cities from the previous version of the game rolled up into one huge world for players to explore.

However, it will be very hard for developers to figure out a way to overcome the confines of different video game consoles in order to pack all these settings into a single game. Regardless of the rumors being true or false, it is factual that VR will be a major area for developers to focus over the next couple of years. Any upcoming GTA VR game would be a boon for the virtual reality space in general.
