Both the MacBook Pro and Air are expected to be refreshed this 2016 and the product release date is likely near as huge discounts on existing models are beginning to emerge while the first beta release of OS X 10.12, which will power the new ultraportable laptops, is expected at Apple's 2016 WWDC in June. For the latest MacBook killer deals, savings can go as high as $440.
Killer MacBook deals
The irresistible promos, according to Apple Insider, involve the 12-inch MacBook and the 15-inch MacBook Pros that can be bought from B&H Photo and Video and Adorama, respectively. The two are authorized Apple reseller that ensures the same level of after-sales from the Apple Store, the report added.
While the 12-inch MacBook currently sells at $1399, packing a 1.2GHz processing chip, 8GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage, B&H is marking down the sticker price by $200. The deal is further sweetened by free shipping with the possibility of buyers dodging the mandatory sales tax if the delivery address is located outside of New York.
The same MacBooks are offered in Gold, Silver and Space Gray color options, the report noted, adding that shoppers wanting to get AppleCare protection the devices can do so at a reduced cost of $229.
Or they can instead grab the more powerful and productivity-optimized 15-inch MacBook Pro, which Adorama has bundled too with AppleCare plus one welcome bonus - a free Canon PIXMA MG3520 Wireless AirPrint Inkjet Photo All-in-One Printer. The MacBook Pro packages come in 2.2GHz, 2.5GHZ and 2.8GHz processing muscles with 16GB of RAM support. The built-in storage starts at 256GB and can get as high as 1TB.
As can be expected, the MacBook Pro with 1TB comes with the highest asking price, listed by Apple Insider at $3128 but it is also the same 15-inch model with the biggest price cut at $420. For the basic model, the original sticker says $1978 that the deal chops off by $370.
But when Adorama's MacBook pricing is compared to that in Apple Store, buyers can realize savings of up to $775, the report said.
OS X 10.12 touching down soon?
The deals mentioned above could be seen as signaling the fast approaching upgrades of both the MacBook Pro and Air but another solid indicator seems to suggest that the new laptops from Apple is dropping soon. Reports said that the last beta version of OS X El Capitan has been seeded, indicating that the latest Mac operating system will be finalized soon, thus opening the door for preview builds of OS X 10.12 to start coming out.
The upcoming OS, along with Intel Skylake chip, is believed to be the power behind the new generation of MacBooks and according to MacRumors all indications point to a beta release of OS X 10.12 via the WWDC 2016 this coming June.
And the ensuing scenario should be - the new software, packed with Siri for Mac, will be introduced by Apple with the fresh MacBook Pro and Air 2016 models through the same event with the actual release date to follow shortly.
