The rest of the first half went scoreless as goals were again unleashed at the 56th minute when Die Schanzer's Australia striker Mathew Leckie struck a header from very close range off an assist by teammate midfielder Max Christiansen to make it 2-1.
Ingolstadt's third striker Dario Lezcano made it 3-1 at the 61st, but two goals from the visitors at the 79th and 84th leveled the game again, courtesy of Lukas Rupp and Daniel Didavi.
