Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s uncle Jeff Mayweather slammed Conor McGregor and Ronda Rousey for comments about his nephew in the past. He told the two previously undefeated fighters to "shut up."
Jeff criticized McGregor and Rousey for the many comments they gave in the past in an interview with Fight Hype. He said that the two MMA fighters have "had their little moment of fame."
McGregor made headlines when he stated that he would defeat the American boxer easily. He said that if they were involved in a fight, it would have ended in seconds.
In 2015, Rousey exchanged criticisms with Floyd in different interviews. During an interview with ESPN after gaining the Best Fighter at the ESPYs, Rousey said she wondered how Floyd would have felt getting "beat by a woman for once."
Both fighters criticized Floyd who retired from the boxing scene just last year. The boxing champion left the boxing scene with a perfect record.
Supporting his nephew, Jeff is now coming out in full support for him. He criticized McGregor for his defeat recently against Nate Diaz in early March.
Jeff also compared McGregor with his nephew. He stressed that Floyd won five different weight classes and never lost.
It appears that Jeff is also not happy about UFC President and CEO Dana White talking about how Rousey would beat up men and how she would rag doll Floyd but ended up losing to Miesha Tate. The values of both fighters are done now, he specified.
Floyd's uncle strongly suggested that the UFC will need Mayweather Jr. to promote their sport now. While they want to criticize the boxer, he said, but it just showed how the company will really need him to promote it.
According to Jeff, Floyd did not want to fight either one of them in the ring. He emphasized on his nephew's feat of being the undefeated champion in his time.
As Jeff noted, McGregor's fame only lasted almost a year while Rousey's lasted about a year and a half in the UFC. Check out Jeff's boxing tips video below:
