A day after Emma Watson, the "Harry Potter" star, announced on Facebook that she'll be doing Belle in Disney's remake of the animated "Beauty and the Beast", the movie production is now eyeing for Chris Pratt to be the main-man in another remake project, the "Indiana Jones", Deadline reported.
The report has cited that things have been coming early for Disney. However, with the rumors that Pratt, the actor who grabbed the "star" status right after grabbing the "Guardians of the Galaxy" lead role, maybe doing Harrison Ford's phenomenal fedora adventures come up with the issue, why him?
According to a review by the Atlantic's David Sims, the answer has a lot to do with the price; money, but not all about it.
Disney, in the recent years, has been doing remakes of their animated films. In 2010 alone, the movie house was able to release the Tim Burton movie "Alice and Wonderland", which starred Johnny Depp.
In 2014, Disney has also decided to retell the "Sleeping Beauty" story, highlighting the sentiments of the villain Maleficent portrayed by Angelina Jolie.
The review also mentioned that Disney has is now picking up moving picture licenses. In 2009, it bought Marvel Entertainment for $4 billion, and a near equal amount to buy out Lucas Film, the makers of "Star Wars" three years after. In 2013, they bought "Indiana Jones" from Paramount.
"The recent live action approach of Disney is a lot more than just easy money. It is their way of expanding demographics minus the need to worry about superb-quality," the review concluded.
