Key specs for the OnePlus 3 Android smartphone leaked out this week and report said that release date of the device, regarded as a flagship killer, could happen as early as April, at least for buyers in China. And the revealed details so far indicate that the upcoming handset, in case Google would consider, is rock-solid as a Nexus 2016 base-model.
An updated report by China-focused tech blog site GizmoChina said that the OnePlus 3 is likely to be officially revealed April 7 and part of the unpacking is the intro of the new HydrogenOS build or the version of Android that will run the device. If the forecast will prove accurate, OnePlus 3 will drop first for Chinese buyers then the rest of Asia. There was no mention on when exactly the device will hit the United States.
All the same, the specs permitted to be glimpsed, claimed to be an AnTuTu benchmark result, boast of the same qualities that earned OnePlus the flagship killer label. Many Android fans are even convinced that Google searching for the best device to pattern the Nexus 2016 after should not look beyond the third OnePlus.
And they cannot be blamed as the OnePlus 3 when unpacked is supposedly loaded with the best that Android can offer. Basing on the leaked details, the device screams of flagship offerings with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 as the inside component centerpiece. The unboxed OnePlus 3 will be of the same league as that of the Samsung Galaxy S7, which according to Consumer Reports is the best smartphone out there.
Supporting the SD 820 chip is 4GB of RAM that ensures fast and buttery smooth mobile computing experience. Out of the box, the next OnePlus flagship will sport a phablet-size 5.5-inch display that renders in 1920 x 1080p screen pixels, fired up by an Adreno 530 GPU. The basic storage is at 32GB.
Also, the OnePlus 3 will impress with a camera system that has a 16-megapixel rear shooter and an 8-megapixel front. As mentioned, the device will debut with HydrogenOS running the show that actually is the skinned version of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
But if Google will end up molding the Nexus 2016 after the OnePlus 3, a version of the device could soon come out already rocking Android N, believed as version 7.0 of the operating system, right out of the box. As the OnePlus 3 is tipped to come out within April, a Pure Android version, should there will be one, could materialize in the second half of 2016.
