Even though Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart both decided to take on small-scale indie projects after their graduation from the "Twilight" movie franchise, Pattinson seems not to be doing as well as his ex-girlfriend. A new report claims he is now playing catch-up when it comes to his finances.
While Stewart earned significant amount of recognition for her performances on independent films and stayed financially afloat with continuous work and landing major fashion campaigns, OK magazine reported that Pattinson is suffering from financial troubles. According to an insider, "Rob's spending habits are the same now as they were when he was earning the big bucks, so there's a real shortfall."
The source added that Pattinson is desperate for some big roles to get his finances in order. However, his star power is currently weak after his recent movies tanked: "Cosmopolis" in 2012 and "Rover" in 2014. Even though Pattinson signed on to be face of the Dior Homme fragrance, this contract only lasts a year, the source explained.
In another report by OK magazine, Stewart's net worth today could be estimated to be at $70 million. She was making $25 million when she was doing "Twilight" and then just $200,000 when she moved on to smaller films. But the actress seems to be doing quite well, even enjoying her time away from the limelight. She recently received a Cesars 2015 nomination, the French equivalent of the Academy Awards, for her performance at the "Cloud of Sils Maria." This is the first time an American actress received such nomination in 30 years.
