It's official! Katsura Hoshino's "D.Gray-man" manga has finally gotten its green light and is ready to return to the anime world. TMS Entertainment has announced that the anime adaptation is a go with director Yoshiharu Ashino at the helm.
The most recent report reveals that a brand new dark fantasy anime is in the works. "D.Gray-man" is finally returning in the form of a new anime TV series. In fact, Hoshino already confirmed the said anime adaptation and revealed that the new series will not be a reboot but instead, it will be a continuation of where the story has left off.
The news comes after the TMS Entertainment stage panel at AnimeJapan 2016 announced on March 76, Saturday, the anime adaptation's official title, premiere date and full casts members. Aside from that, a promotional video was also unleashed, Anime News Network reported.
While it is no news that it has been eight years since fans worldwide saw their favorite protagonist, Allen Walker, on the TV screen, most recent reports have it that the new upcoming anime will feature a new voicing casts and that how the story unfolds may be somewhat distinctive.
The new anime series in town is apparently titled "D.Gray-man Hallow," where voice actor Ayumu Murase has been cast as the protagonist Walker, Shinnosuke Tachibana will voice the extremely calm, yet strict young man named Howard Link; Takuya Satō as Yū Kanda; Natsuki Hanae as Lavi, Souichiro Hoshi as Wisely and among others.
Although there has been no official announcement with respect to the total number of episodes yet, the series will officially return airing on TV Tokyo beginning July. "D.Gray-man Hallow" takes after the tale of Allen Walker, whose left arm can transform into an enormous claw or a sword. The 15-year-old young man is a member of an Exorcists group, who make use of an ancient substance called Innocence with a specific end goal to combat the Millennium Earl and his demonic army of Akuma.
Much to the delight of the fans, TMS Entertainment took to Twitter on December 2015 and unleashed a visual poster of the anime series with a tagline that reads, "Don't stand still. Keep walking."
