"How to Get Away With Murder" season 3 will see Christophe / Wes Gibbins (Alfred Enoch) once again facing a huge ordeal in relation to one of his family members.
In the fall finale episode, it was revealed that Wes is the son of Wallace Mahoney (Adam Arkin). However, when Wes was finally ready to meet his father, the man was shot right in front of him.
While speaking with Variety, executive producer Pete Nowalk said that Wes will be affected by the trauma of seeing yet another family member die before his very eyes.
However, he has also become much stronger compared to the Wes that was introduced in season 1.
"One year ago, I would have said Wes would have fallen apart and down a spiral, but I think he's been through so much hell now, he's much tougher. The thing I'm really excited to explore now is what is his relationship with Annalise now," he said.
Meanwhile, Nowalk also talked about Wes and Annalise Keating's (Viola Davis) dynamic in the upcoming season.
It was already revealed why Annalise has been very protective of Wes, and now that the latter is pretty much alone, he would have to decide as to whether or not he could trust his professor.
"They've been on such opposite sides because she's been aggressively protecting him, but also hiding a secret from him, but now that everything is out on the table, he has to decide whether to trust her. He's so alone so I think there's a version where they grow much closer and they work together so that's what is really appealing to me right now," he said.
In other news, the third season of "How to Get Away With Murder" is also expected to reveal more details about the other characters whose backstories haven't been explored.
This includes Connor (Jack Falahee), Laurel (Karla Souza), Michaela (Aja Naomi King) and Bonnie (Liza Weil).
More details about Frank's (Charlie Weber) relationship with Sam (Tom Verica) and Annalise will also be revealed.
"How to Get Away With Murder" season 3 will premiere on ABC sometime in September.
