"Pretty Little Liars" will reportedly return for season 8.
According to Bustle, the cast members of the hit Freeform TV show have been expressing their desire to stay on the series for as long as possible.
During one of her tweets last year, Lucy Hale said that she's excited to reprise her role as Aria Montgomery for season 7. She added that she will still be part of the show for as long as it is renewed.
Additionally, season 7 may just be the beginning of the end for the series because there are still more storylines waiting to be explored.
However, the publication also noted that if "Pretty Little Liars" will air until season 8, it's possible that not all of the original cast members will return to the show.
For one, Ashley Benson's characters Hanna Marin may have just been killed off. It's also possible that Alison DiLaurentis' (Sasha Pieterse) life is at huge risk especially after it was revealed that she could be Uber A.
In the finale episode for season 6, fans also learned that Mary Drake (Ashley Parker) and Elliott Rollins (Huw Collins) will not stop at anything until they are able to take down Alison. If they are to succeed, it's possible that Alison will no longer be part of season 8.
Meanwhile, there are also some rumors that "Pretty Little Liars" will be adapted for the big screen sometime in the near future. Executive producer Marlene King also hinted on the possibility, and said that she's open for whatever opportunity comes for her and her actors.
On the contrary, it's also highly possible that "Pretty Little Liars" will already end after season 7 because Freeform has already announced it. King herself also said that the story surrounding Uber A will finally have a conclusion in the said season.
While speaking with James Corden on "The Late Late Show," Hale said that six years is more than enough to tell the story of the Liars and their tormentors.
"We've been doing it for six years... And I think that all good things must come to an end," she said.
"Pretty Little Liars" season 7 will premiere on Freeform in the next couple of months.
