Struggling team UD Las Palmas (9-15-6, 33 points) is set to take on reeling squad Valencia CF (8-12-10, 34 points) at the Estadio Gran Canaria on April 2nd, Saturday with both teams trying to stay afloat from the bottom three relegation zone as the 2015-2016 La Liga season gradually comes to a close.

Las Palmas made a run in their past few games, winning four of their last six assignments, to become five points above relegation to the Segunda Division with eight games left in their current campaign.

Their last match was a tough 1-0 win over middling team Real Sociedad at the Anoeta Stadium on March 19th, as reported by ESPN.

Brazilian striker Willian Jose scored the winning goal at the 39th minute for manager Quique Setien's side to pull off the much-needed victory and also handing La Real their fifth consecutive winless game late in the season, climbing within two points of their hosts.

Midfielder Jonathan Viera should have scored an earlier goal at the 12th minute for Los Amarillos, but his penalty kick was saved by Real's Argentine goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli as well as the rebound shot from midfielder Figueroa Momo.

Still, Setien is satisfied with the close win as they managed to evade dropping into the bottom three.

Meanwhile, fan-favorite Valencia is currently on a downward spiral, losing their last three games and four of their last five to settle at the 14th spot in the league table, six points away from the relegation zone.

Head coach Gary Neville's boys are having a hard time finding the net in their past several matches, scoring only one goal in their last three outings.

Their most recent match is a 0-2 blanking in the hands of contending squad Celta Vigo at their own home field of Mestalla Stadium on March 20th, via SkySports.

Os Célticos' Swede forward John Guidetti and team captain Hugo Mallo provided the two goals for the visitors during Los Che's shutout loss.

The predicted result is a close 1-0 decision for Valencia to snap their three-game losing slide.
