New details for "Legends of Tomorrow" will feature Rip Hunter and his team traveling to the future in episode 10 trailer, a young Mick Rory in episode 12 and a new cast member joining the show.
"Suits" star Patrick J. Adams is added to the cast of the the DC superhero mash up series, "Legends of Tomorrow" as he will be playing a mysterious character in the show. Adams character is described as a "fun character that fans will love", which is another clue for the "beloved superhero" in the DC comics that the CW TV series wants to be added for the show, Entertainment Weekly reported.
Several DC characters have been rumored to be the possible mystery hero in the season finale of "Legends of Tomorrow" such as Michael Jon Carter/Booster Gold, Animal Man and Elongated Man. However, recent reports revealed that Booster Gold has been "ruled out" for Adam's possible character role as fans are hoping to see him now that DC TV series has tackled the multiverse, not to mention that fact that Booster Gold is Rip Hunter's (Arthur Darvill) father.
This character could be part of Rip's new line up in season 2 along with other rumored characters Connor Hawke (Joseph David-Jones) and John Constantine (Matt Ryan).
In other news, "Detective McLean" actor Mitchell Kummen will be playing a young Mick Rory/Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell) in episode 12 of "Legends of Tomorrow" titled "Last Refuge". According to Variety, the episode will explore Mick's obsession with fire as the DC character is known to be a psychotic arsonist in the DC comics.
It was revealed that the Mick Rory was still alive in the latest episode "Left Behind" as Leonard Snart/Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) did not kill him when he betrayed the team. He was eventually found by the Time Masters and took him to the Vanishing Point and trained him to become the bounty hunter Chronos. He hunted the team in each episode, but his objective is capture is former friend and partner Leonard Snart as an act of revenge.
Lastly, a new teaser for episode 10 titled "Progeny" will have the heroes go the the future era of 2147 where in they will assassinate a dangerous ally of Vandal Savage (Casper Crump). Unbeknownst to them the target is a 14-year old boy, which instigates a question of morality to the team. The episode will also have Ray Palmer/The Atom (Brandon Routh) discover something about Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee) that will serious impact on the future.
"Legends of Tomorrow" will return on Thursday 8PM on the CW Network.
