Square Enix made a lot of noise this week as the tech company has finally unveiled its much-anticipated game, "Final Fantasy XV" release date. According to director Hajime Tabata, the game will be launched on Sept. 30.
Not only was the game's launch date unveiled in the recently concluded "Uncovered" live event, it was also confirmed that there will be an anime series and movie adaptation for the newest "Final Fantasy" installment.
The first episode of the anime series entitled "Brotherhood" was unveiled and it gives an overview on the life of protagonist, Noctis. Apparently, Noctis was almost killed by an unnamed monster with multiple hands back when he was still a kid, Kotaku reported.
Also, the bond between Noctis and his three companions, Ignis Stupeo Scientia, Gladiolus Amicitia and Prompto Argentum were seen in the anime. Plus, they can be seen battling robotic soldiers near the end which likely are soldiers from the opposing kingdom. As a finale, a huge container was dropped in their location, unveiling the serpentine-like villain, which was the same creature that almost killed Noctis.
Next episode's release date has yet to be announced but fans can expect it to pick-up right where it left off. Fans might even see Noctis summoning Ramuh, which was one of the highlights of the demo version.
Tabata has confirmed that they are weighing a possible PC version for "Final Fantasy XV." They said that optimizing the game in console was the better decision for them but now that the game is done, they just might make a PC version eventually.
"Unfortunately we weren't able to do simultaneous development on a PC and console version for XV," Engadget quoted Tabata as saying. "We had to focus on the console version and our goal was to maximize, optimize everything for the HD consoles. Once that's done, then we will definitely take a good, hard look at PC and what we need to do, and consider all our options."
In other news, there will also be a "Final Fantasy XV" movie entitled "Kingslaive." As seen on the trailer, it seems like the movie will cover the events before Noctis came to be. Watch the "Final Fantasy XV" anime episode and the movie trailer below:
