The Denver Broncos and San Francisco 49ers have yet to reach an agreement that would potentially move star quarterback Colin Kaepernick to the Mile High City, according to the latest NFL trade rumors.

Kaepernick could remain with the 49ers after all after reports of a possible trade that would see him join the Super Bowl 50 winner.

According to NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport, there has been no agreement between the 49ers and Broncos for Kaepernick taking a pay-cut to join Denver, as well as the potential picks that are rumored to be part of the deal.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that the 49ers have agreed to send Kaepernick to the Broncos, but the 49ers quarterback and Denver "have not been close" to terms on a restructured contract that would see the 28-year-old taking less than $26.4 million his owed the next two season.

"Kaepernick and the Broncos will continue to talk and try to bridge their contractual differences, sources said," Schefter wrote.

"Kaepernick is due to make $11.9 million in base salary this season and has a $15.9 million salary cap hit for 2016. The Broncos want a much friendlier cap number and contract and need to see whether they can get it."

According to Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle, Kaepernick met with Broncos general manager John Elway to discuss the particulars. Branch noted that Broncos only have $1.62 million in salary cap space and would have to clear some room to sign Kaepernick.

"Denver could clear significant space by trading or releasing left tackle Ryan Clady, who is scheduled to earn a $9.5 million base salary this season," Kaepernick noted.

The Broncos seem the desperate team in the latest trade talks with the 49ers, with Denver looking for a replacement for retired quarterback Peyton Manning. Denver, who also lost Brock Osweiler to free agency, has traded for Mark Sanchez, but it does not look like the team is ready to hand him the starting job.
