Zhang Yunhui, a newly emerging Chinese singer, is the composer of “Yi Yang De Shi,” the new theme song of “The Voice of China.”
Its English title is "Same Dream" which was chosen by the producers of the talent search because the message it conveys is the same as the show: that is people from different walks of life gather with the same dream, which is the dream of music, reported CRI.
Zhang, the creator, began her music career in 2008 and became famous because of a single in 2011.
“The Voice of China” debuted in 2012 and, since then, has become one of the top rating shows in the country.
But because of the show’s popularity, some people use it to scam other Chinese. The South China Morning Post reported on Monday that 38 people were arrested for posing as organizers of "The Voice of China."
The gang contacted people and informed them that they won prizes but need to pay a deposit or tax, according to Sichuan Daily. Their victims run into the hundreds who were cheated of more than 20 million yuan.
Among their victims is a man in Guangyan in Sichuan who was duped of 37,000 yuan by gang members who posed as staff of the talent search show. The suspects were apprehended last week by a team of over 20 policemen who tracked them in several China provinces, including Hainan, Jiangsu and Anhui.
Authorities seized from the gang members a rifle with 1,000 bullets and 150 million yuan cash.
