The CW network officially reveals the future of "Reign," and it shall be a good news for the fans because the historical action drama series has been renewed for season 4.
Some thought that the series might face its end due to the departure of Francis (Toby Regbo), who faced his death earlier this season trying to save his beloved Mary. Francis was the love interest of Mary (Adelaide Kane), the female lead star of the series. However, all sorts of twists and challenges were introduced to the previous seasons of "Reign" that resulted to Kane and Regbo's characters to have some misunderstandings.
With Francis's departure in "Reign," it seems like another main character is leaving as well. As what was reported by TVLine, Torrance Coombs who plays Francis' half-brother Bash, and an illegitimate son of the King, already announced his decision to leave the show after this season.
As of the moment, the show is currently on its mid-season break and is reported to return on April 25 to resume "Reign" season 3's final episodes. It is said that "Reign" season 3 will replace the timeslot of "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend," which is expected to air its season finale before "Reign's" on screen return.
During the mid-season finale, fans witnessed Queen Mary gained an ally in the name of Gideon (Ben Geuren), and together, they will be deceiving Queen Elizabeth (Rachel Skarsten). According to reports, Ben Geuren who is a newbie in the series will play a huge role in the upcoming episodes, and he might also be cast as one of the shows regular actors.
Although the network is still not revealing the outline of the next episodes, rumors leads fans to an information that the premier episode will expose the character who poisoned Queen Elizabeth's tea that resulted to the queen's miscarriage.
On one hand, the executive producers of the show are really serious about the ratings, as "The Arrow" lead star John Barrowman is reported to appear as a guest-star in the show. He will play Munro who has been rumored to be the character responsible for Francis's death.
