George R.R. Martin has already made clear that the "Winds of Winter" will not see publication until Season 6 of the "Game of Thrones" has run its course, which ensures that the book will not spoil the HBO television series. However, it will be the show's turn to drop the telling clues on what to expect when readers finally get their hands on the sixth instalment of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series.
Despite the recent assurance from GoT showrunners, David Benioff and Dan Weiss, that Season 6 will not spoil its book counterpart and snuff the fun out of reading through Martin's upcoming work, the following spoilers can be expected once the fresh Game of Thrones episodes get going:
Daenerys' quest for the Iron Throne
The last time Daenerys was seen she was surrounded by the Dohtraki horsemen and one of the Season 6 trailers apparently showed the Mother of Dragons as a captive. However, the last of the Targaryens also has Drogon by her side, which hints that her captivity will be short-lived.
There will be 10 episodes that GoT viewers can look forward too and to be sure Daenerys is again a dominant figure. For followers of Martin's upcoming book, Season 6 will certainly offer glimpses of the things to come for Daenerys in the print version - how circumstances is preparing the way for the Khaleesi to finally reach King's Landing and claim the Iron Throne.
End of Lannister Rule?
If the new Game of Thrones season will indeed bring Daenerys to the center of Westeros she will find a chaotic capital with the Lannisters gradually losing control. Tywin is dead and the Queen Regent, Cersei, is being persecuted by the High Sparrow and his fanatic minions.
Picking up from where Season 5 had ended, the Lannisters are expected to continue wrestling against the enemies with heartbreaking consequences (or for some, poetic justice). Cersei was once told she will outlive her offspring - two are already dead and the last, the current ruler of the Seven Kingdoms, is likely to meet his demise anytime in the coming chapter.
Or worst, the indicators seem to firm up that House Lannister will soon leave King's Landing and all these eventualities would-be buyers of Winds of Winter will first see on GoT Season 6.
The Jon Snow mystery
But the most gripping spoilers would be on Jon Snow - his untimely death and supposed resurrection, the revelation of his real roots and his possible ascension to the Iron Throne if indeed Targaryen blood runs through his veins.
All these Winds of Winter book spoilers should begin unfolding April 24 as Season 6 of Game of Thrones start airing.
