Sporting is presently on a two-game unbeaten run after losing for four consecutive matches. They are at the 18th spot of the current league table which makes them in danger of getting demoted to the Segunda Division next season, but only a point away from escaping the bottom three relegation area.

Their most recent game was a goalless draw with a 10-man cellar-dwelling Levante side at the Estadi Ciutat de València on Monday, as reported by SkySports.

It was a step closer to the safety region for Los Rojiblancos even as they failed to take advantage of winning against the struggling Les Granotes even on the road.

Gijon went closest to scoring a goal during the match when Spanish midfielder Pablo Perez's strike hit the goal post near the end of the first half.

Levante's Moroccan defender Zou Feddal was sent off in stoppage time, but it was too late for Sporting to chase for a goal afterward.

Meanwhile, Celta Vigo settled to a 1-1 draw with also a 10-man Deportivo La Coruna squad at their home field of Estadio Municipal de Balaídos last Saturday, as per ESPNMeanwhile, Celta Vigo settled to a 1-1 draw with also a 10-man Deportivo La Coruna squad at their home field of Estadio Municipal de Balaídos last Saturday, as per ESPN.

Both teams netted a goal each in the first half of play, courtesy of Costa Rican midfielder Celso Borges for Deportivo at the 21st minute and Spanish winger Nolito at the 30th for Os Célticos, to reach the halftime break in a tie.

It proved to be the final score, though, because the Sky Blues were not able to take advantage of Branquiazuis defender Alejandro Arribas' sending off at the 68th, as the Galicia derby ended up tied.

The draw extended Celta's unbeaten run to three games as they are currently at the fifth spot of the league table.

The predicted result is a close 2-1 decision for Celta Vigo.
