"Gone Girl" star Rosamund Pike and Chelsea Clinton reportedly ended their friendship years ago because of President Barack Obama.
In the Feb. 9 issue of Star Magazine, a source claims Pike and Clinton became friends while they were studying at Oxford College in England, hung out a lot and would sometimes speak to each other in German.
When they returned to the United States, however, their differences in political views allegedly ended their friendship.
"They had a talk one night about politics, and Rosamund made it clear that she preferred Obama's politics over Hilary's," the source said. "Chelsea really took it to heart."
Pike's "Gone Girl" co-actor Ben Affleck also happens to be one of the actors who are vocal about their political views.
In 2004, Affleck described himself as "a moderately liberal guy" since there are things that he agrees with the Democratic Party and there are things he does not, Fox News reported.
"I'm not a big gun control guy. I believe in all the Bill of Rights, including the Second Amendment. I'm not a party guy, one way or another," Affleck explained on the show.
In 2012, the actor appeared again on the show to promote the terrorism-filled movie "Argo," which he directed and earned him an Oscar.
At the time, Affleck admitted he liked Obama on the major issues and thought the President had done a good job so he was going to vote for him.
Meanwhile, Affleck's wife Jennifer Garner described him as a man with "serious mantra" and said he is the opposite of his misogynistic role Nick Dune in "Gone Girl."
