Considering that "Descendants of the Sun" was a fully pre-produced drama before airing in a TV screen, the ending spoilers of the show's episode finale are seemingly making the rounds on many Chinese websites.
Fans across the globe must brace themselves for a major loss when the heartbreaking finale comes. The spoilers suggest that Song Joong Ki's character, Army Captain Yoo Shi Jin aka Big Boss, will die in the episode finale, A Koalas Playground reported.
It has been reported that a happy ending is set to happen for First Lieutenant Yoon Myung Ju (Kim Ji-won) and Sergeant Major Seo Dae Young aka Wolf (Jin Goo), as the couple will reportedly tie the wedding knots. Song Hye Kyo's Dr. Kang Mo Yeon attended their wedding ceremony, only to be disappointed later as she did not see Captain Yoo.
When she was about to leave, Sgt. Seo called out to Dr. Kang and told her about Captain Yoo's condition that day, stating that Big Boss was severely injured to the point that he almost died. Sgt. Seo admitted that he did not know where the army captain went after that.
Regardless, Dr. Kang did not give up her hope and continue to follow the Special Forces to various locations. It has been reported that actress Hye Kyo's character will end up teaching or volunteering in a remote developing area.
After 2 years, Captain Yoo is still nowhere to be found. Feeling disappointed, Dr. Kang went back to Urk and decided to revisit the island again, where she and Captain Yoo enjoyed a date on the famous shipwrecked vessel.
As recalled in the previous episode 3, Big Boss told Dr. Kang that each visitor who came to the said island should take a stone back and return it once they return back to that place. Upon revisiting the island, Dr. Kang seemingly saw a familiar man standing from afar as the sun sets.
While nothing is impossible, the ending spoilers ought to be taken with a pinch of salt, as none of these have been confirmed or denied by the producers of the show. Meanwhile, "Descendants of the Sun" continues to soar high in the national TV rating game.
The on-going mega hit melodrama TV series remains to be one of the viewers' favorite Korean series, as the drama's episode 14 broadcast earned a 35.6 percent viewership rating in Seoul, Korea on April 7, Thursday, HanCinema has learned.
