MacBook Pro 2016 updates: Laptop to have touch-sensitive keyboard without keys; 3 advantages of this system

If reports are anything to go by, the upcoming MacBook Pro 2016 may feature a touch-sensitive keyboard that will not have physical keys.

There are speculations that the Cupertino-based Apple is working on 15-inch and 13-inch variants of the 2016 MacBook Pro.

Last year, the company had filed a patent for force-sensitive input structure for an electronic gadget. The patent filing was made public a few days ago, Daily Mail reported. Apple calls this new type of input technology as zero travel. This means that these keyboards will not have any physical keys.

The surface of the keyboard will sense the varying pressures from the user's fingers and provide feedback suitably. The biggest advantage of this input method will be configurability. The owners can set aside portions of the device for a special set of keys, a numeric keypad and multiple trackpads.

Moreover, the keyboard will feature micro-perforations or holes for every key that will become visible through backlighting.

According to the tech company, other advantages of this system include less dirt entering the device and causing damage and reduced risk of component failure.

Also, according to various reports, the 2016 Macbook Pro will include an improved retina display and a stereo speaker. In addition, the upcoming laptop will include a built-in microphone and two USB C Ports.

Rumors are also doing the rounds that the 2016 MacBook Pro will be powered by Intel's 6th-generation Skylake chipsets, according to Digital Trends.

According to several reports, the 13 inch variant will run for 10 hours on a complete charge. For the 15 inch variant of the model, it will last 9 hours between charges.

It is expected that the 2016 MacBook Pro will feature Thunderbolt 3 that can transfer data at a speed of 40 GB per sec.

Furthermore, various reports indicate that Siri will make its way to the 15-inch MacBook Pro. Speculations are doing the rounds that the Cupertino-based Apple will bring in a biometric recognition feature to the device.  

It is expected that the forthcoming device will be released in June this year. Reports also suggest that the tech company will launch the MacBook Air 2016 this year.
