The Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update is now rolling out for Samsung Galaxy S5, S5 Sport, Note 5, Note 4, Note Edge.
Samsung Galaxy S5 users in Trinidad and Tobago were the first ones to get the Android Marshmallow update. The update is only available for devices, which have the model number as SM-G900L.
In the United States, network carrier Sprint was the first one to release the Android Marshmallow update for its users, who have Samsung Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S5 Sport. It released the update for all devices, which have the model number as G900PVPU3CPCA. Other carriers such as AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and US Cellular are expected to follow suit, soon.
Regarding Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Sprint was the first one to release the Android Marshmallow update here, as well. Galaxy Note 4 users who have the model number N910C have received the update, Sam Mobile reported. The other variants of the device are yet to receive the latest operating system update.
On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 users have also received the update through their network carriers. Network carriers Sprint and Verizon have already released the update. Canadian network carriers Telus and Bell have also released the update. Other network carriers, such as AT&T, T-Mobile and US Cellular are expected to release the update by the end of the month.
Note Edge users are also in line to receive the update. Network carrier T-Mobile is currently testing the update for this device, according to T-Mobile's support page. Other network carriers will also roll out the update soon.
When the update is ready for a device, then the OTA notification will use up in the System Settings. However, users can check their devices manually to see, if they are prompted for an update or not. To do so, they need to go to About Phone> System Updates> Check for update.
On the other hand, other Samsung devices such as Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge have already received the update. They will now be upgraded to Android N, when it launches in May.
