The latest information about "Battlefield 5" indicates that the game will be the most technologically advanced. EA DICE seems to be working had to take advantage of the game's Frostbite Engine.
In a recent job listing on DICE's official job website, the company is looking for a candidate believed to be going to assist in the development of "Battlefield 5." The applicant will be tasked with the responsibility of working on a game team at the company to plan, execute, and assess the system for computing optimal view distances for mesh LOD transition.
Explaining further on the job listing, DICE said, "The work will be carried out in the Frostbite game engine and the goal is to accelerate the current workflow, to improve image stability and to get more optimal LOD distances from a performance perspective."
While there was no mention of "Battlefield 5," a report from Segment Next noted that the Frostbite Engine that the company is set to improve would be useful in creating the shooter. As a result, the improvements on the engine will be perceivable on the upcoming "Battlefield" game.
Other reports have it that although the company is polishing Frostbite for the next shooter, it could also imply that this is just the way DICE wants to keep the engine in great shape and at par with the rest of game engines. Previous speculations concerning the much-awaited installment suggest that it will be set in World War I or World War II. New leaks have it that the game will be subtitled "Eastern Front," in reference to its setting.
In addition, it is believed that the fifth installment in the "Battlefield" series will release for Nintendo NX, which is expected to release later this year. While there is no concrete proof about the rumor, it is evident according to the company's job listing that it is working hard to improve the Frostbite Engine.
