A few days ago, it was confirmed that various browsers including Chrome, Firefox and Safari are blocking users from entering kat.cr, which is the domain of a very popular torrent site, Kickass Torrents.
According to Inverse, browsers blocked KAT for the reason that it has been considered as a deceptive site, and that a Phishing link was found on the site which could steal information from the site's users.
A lot of people want to free downloadable contents, and what is the best site to go to than Kickass Torrents. Kickass Torrents did also informed Google about it, and KAT hopes that Google would finally lift the security alert.
Upon its interview with TorrentFreak, Kickass Torrents said that it will enhance its users' security by wrapping each external link, and that it has already blocked the site that renders unusable external links.
On one hand, like Kickass Torrents, Facebook itself may also have some security issues. Even if Facebook is known to be a trusted website, and that most of the links in it came from trusted sites, but because hackers are everywhere, then this could mean that maybe a few links within the popular social media site might not be safe at all. In fact, various cases have been reported that several Facebook accounts have been hacked through malicious links.
Perhaps, precaution is the best way to combat these hackers, and that users should be cautious in clicking links, especially those links that are quite suspicious.
