Microsoft Surface Pro 5 and Surface Book 2 release will happen before MacBook Air, Pro launch.
Reports claimed that Microsoft felt pressured in releasing the next generation of Surface Pro and Book devices before the arrival of MacBook Pro Air and Pro 2016, according to Northern Voice Online. Apple and Microsoft are expected to have a head on battle soon with the release of their respective powerful laptops.
It was previously reported the Microsoft Surface pro 5, Book 2 release were pushed back in spring 2017. This is backed by several reasons. Some of the probable reasons of the alleged delay are the Surface Phone and Windows 10 Redstone 2 releases. It is reported that Microsoft wants to establish its Surface Phone like what it did with Surface Pro tablets.
Rumors say that Microsoft Surface Pro 5 and Surface Book 2 will come with 4K pixel resolution that will enable users to stream 4K video content on tablet. Surface Pro 5 will have a screen size of 13.3 inches, which is the common spec on most laptops.
Latest whispers claimed that the upcoming laptop-tablet hybrids will be powered of Intel's Skylake chipsets and reinforced by the second update of Windows 10 operating system.
Aside from Skylake processor from Intel and Redstone 2, the devices will reportedly pack an improved battery life, as the Surface Pro 4's battery juice is worth 5 hours and 15 minutes of videos. Microsoft promised 9 hours of playback last time; thus, it may go up to 7 hours of battery life.
The entry-level Surface Pro 5 running on Intel i5 will cost $899, while the laplet powered by i7 will cost $999 and $1,599 for an i7 Extreme. The price will go up based on storage and other features.
However, Microsoft has not announced any official information yet and consumers must wait for the updates.
