Zac Brown admitted his presence in a Florida hotel room raided by the police last week. The Zac Brown Band leader singer gave his side of the story over reports about a drug bust in Palm Beach, Florida, 75 miles south of Miami with Brown being tied to the story.
In town for a charity auction, Brown ended up in a hotel room with cocaine, strippers and condoms when cops raided a week ago at 2:30 a.m., arresting four people for coke and weed. One of the three strippers had six condoms and a thousand dollar cash in her purse, TMZ reported.
Sources connected to Brown told the publication that he was out of town early evening with a friend. He was said to have been invited by the friend to hang out with some guys in a hotel room and it was out of his knowledge that strippers would come shortly after he arrived. The cops busted the room 10 minutes later.
At first, the cops did not acknowledge Brown's presence, though his name was in the police document. However, the cops reportedly got the ZBB singer's autograph. While Brown was said to ask the cops to omit his name in the police report as he has a wife and kids, sources insisted it was the cops who offered the move.
Brown has a prescription bottle with two pills that did not match the label. The officers asked him to give a valid Rx proof for the pills which he later presented were painkillers prescribed following minor surgery. The police in Palm Beach maintained the ZBB singer was not involved, Palm Beach Post reported.
Brown posted on the Zac Brown Band Facebook account that he will take responsibility for his actions, but said he did not know the people who were arrested. His apology started with a story about his father who taught him that nothing good comes from staying out late.
