Song Joong Ki just completed his first fan meeting schedule on April 17, Sunday. The event was the actor's first official meeting with fans since he was discharged from the army in May 2015 so everyone was really happy to see him up close again.

The fan meeting was very successful especially because Song's comeback drama project "Descendants of the Sun" was a huge hit not just in South Korea but many parts of Asia as well. About 4,000 fans flocked to Kyunghee University concert hall in Seoul and many others were not able to get inside the venue, Yonhap News reported.

Tickets for the said event were released and went on sale online on March 31. A few minutes later, all tickets have been sold already. It was said that ticket were sold for only US$20, but some scalpers took advantage of the fans' interest in the fan meeting and resold the tickets to as high as $170.

Moreover, since many fans are desperate to get inside the venue and many expressed extreme disappointment for not being able to secure seats, the expensive tickets in the black market were also sold immediately. It was reported that many Chinese fans have joined the battle to secure tickets too.

In any case, the fan meeting in Seoul signals the the start of Song's Asian tour to meet with fans who fiercely supported him all this time. With the explosion of his popularity after starring as Captain Yoo Si Jin in "Descendants of the Sun," the organizers of the fan meetings are expecting the number of attendees to double if not triple.

At the fan meet, Song sang two musical pieces for the fans and he participated in games that were related to "Descendants of the Sun." Two of his close friends, Lee Kwang Soo and Park Bo Gum, also made a special appearance and this further delighted the audience.

The actor also read a letter to fans when the event was about to close. In one part of the note, Korea Times quoted Song as saying, "I'm sorry for making you wait so long. The second chapter in my acting career has started. Thank you for waiting."

Meanwhile, Song will continue his Asian tour through fan meetings in China, Thailand and Taiwan. For the event in Bangkok, Thailand, it was set on May 7 at Thunder Dome, Muangthong Thani.
