According to latest reports, MacBook Pro 2016, iPhone 7, iPhone 6s, iPads and Apple Watches will last for 3-4 years only.
Cupertino-based Apple said in a web page about its impact on the environment that it expects that first owners of Apple Watches, iPads and iPhones should replace the devices after three years of use, and owners of MacBooks and Macs should replace their devices after four years of use, according to Independent.
The upcoming iPhone 7 and the newest iPhone 6s will last for three years only.
The company said that to model consumer use, they measure the power consumed by a gadget while it is running in a simulated scenario. Everyday usage patterns are particular to each product and are a mixture of modeled and actual consumer use data.
The company did not take into consideration the resale or recycling of gadgets in the assessment.
For years, rumors have circulated about whether or not the software company makes its products so that they die within a few years.
Back in 2014, a PhD student Laura Trucco examined the number of Google searches for 'iPhone slow' throughout the world over the last seven years. Trucco discovered that the search term 'iPhone slow' spiked whenever a new model was launched.
To prove the theory, users of iPhone have conducted tests involving devices running updated versions and older software to prove that the tech giant self-sabotages the out-of-date hardware to encourage people to upgrade sooner.
Meanwhile, according to 9to5Mac, Apple has unveiled a new 12- inch Retina MacBook. The new model features an additional hour of battery life, quicker flash storage and improved graphics. It will be available in a rose gold finish. The device carries a price tag of $1,299.

Several reports indicate that the MacBooks will arrive in the second half of 2016. It is expected that the 2016 MacBook Pro and the 2016 MacBook Air will arrive in June when the Apple hosts the annual Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).
The upcoming MacBook Pro will be powered by the Skylake processors and will come with USB-Type C and ThunderBolt 3.
There are speculations that the software giant could integrate Touch ID to the device to enable users to login.
According to Intel, the Skylake processors can deliver 30% longer battery life than earlier models. Many reports indicate that the company will deliver better battery life on the new devices.
Other features of the 2016 MacBook Pro include 512GB, 256GB, 128GB, 1TB SSD options and 8GB and 16GB RAM options. Rumors are also doing the rounds that Apple will release the new MacBook Air in June this year.
