Wit Studio has finally revealed the number of episodes for Spring's anime series hit Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress (Koutetsujou no Kabaneri). Meanwhile, the release of Attack on Season 2 is still slated for this year, tentatively this fall in Japan.
After just two episodes, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress has already established itself as Spring Time's must-watch anime series, all thanks to its exhilarating storyline, detailed art design and unconventionally strong characters (Mumei and Ikoma).
Unfortunately for those who are starting to love the series, Tetsuro Araki's pet project won't last that long as Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress Season 1 will span for only 12 episodes.
Still, the manga adaptation Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress will continue to provide story material for potential second season of the anime series. Shiro Yoshida will serve as the writer and illustrator of Kabaneri manga, which will be published monthly on Comic Garden starting June.

On the other hand, Kabaneri's season finale scheduled in the last week of July perfectly sets up for fall release of Attack on Titan Season 2, another popular post-apocalyptic anime series under the direction of Araki.
Attack on Titan anime series became a worldwide phenomenon three years ago and has spawned several spin-offs, live actions films and video games. It is based on the original manga series of the same name (Shingeki no Kyojin) written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama.
