No official announcement yet as to when "One Punch Man" season 2 will air; however, a new tweet suggests that the popular anime series will be released by the end of 2016.

The rumored "One Punch Man" end of 2016 release date news came after when One Punch Man user tweeted "One Punch Man no doubt will come to Toonami. Probably by the end of the year."

However, the information would need to be taken with a grain of salt as it does not say that it is the much awaited second season of "one Punch Man." It is said that there is a high possibility that it could be the "One Punch Man" season 1 dubbed in English.

In addition, it was already reported previously that the production of "One Punch Man" season 2 has been delayed due to the lack of source material content, which may mean that the 2016 release of the second season is not possible. Since "One Punch Man's" manga artist Yusuke Murata assured fans that the source material is being updated, it is highly likely that "One Punch Man" season 2 will be released early 2017.

It is still uncertain on what storyline "One Punch Man" season 2 will present to its fans, but rumors has it that it will revolve around a civil war type of story. It is said that it will be a "heroes showdown" type of story as Saitama and Genos will prep up for a huge battle between Hero Hunter and Hero's Association, Design and Trend reported.

Meanwhile, while waiting for "One Punch Man" season 2, five Original Video Animations (OVA) has been released to fuel up the interest of fans to the anime series. The first "One Punch Man" OVA, titled "The Shadow That Snuck Up Too Close," was released in December 2015, just few days after "One Punch Man" season 1 finale episode was aired. The second "One Punch Man" OVA was titled "The Pupil Who Is an Extremely Poor Talker" and was released in Jan. 29, while the third OVA was titled "The Ninja Who is Too Complicated" and was released in Feb. 24.

The fourth and fifth OVA was titled "Bang, Who is Too Overbearing" and "The Sisters Who Have Too Many Things Happening" and was released in March 25 and April 22, respectively.

The sixth and the final OVA of "One Punch Man" will be aired on May 27. The final OVA will feature Saitama and Genos solving a murder case, with the help of the S-Class heroes.
