New details for "Overwatch" will feature a possible cross-gameplay feature with the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms, as well as new announces of the next open beta test on May.
Blizzard Entertainment's upcoming online multiplayer shooter game, "Overwatch" might have cross-play features with the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions as Microsoft previously raised the possibility of playing the game in different game platforms and they are keen to link up players.
However, it appears that the subject of having cross-gameplay with all three game patforms are rather luke-warm due to the strong advantage of the PC in regards to the console versions, Express UK reported.
"Overwatch" game director Jeffrey Kaplan stated in an interview that cross-gameplay within the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms is a "no-go" for them, explaining that it will be unfair for console gamers due to the type of game "Overwatch" is, which is a shooter game. The mouse and keyboard gives a much higher precision with the return rate being much higher, which makes it unfair for other gamers playing the game.
Kaplan added that although the possibility of cross-play between the consoles and PC within "Overwatch" is very bleak, the game developers are still open-minded about exploring new things for the game.
In other news, Blizzard announced another open beta test for Overwatch next month. The video game developers recently shut down the closed beta test on April 25 as they preparing for the open beta test, Gamerant reported.
The new open beta test for "Overwatch" will begin on May 5-9 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms. Gamers who pre-ordered "Overwatch" will have early access to the beta on May 3 and Blizzard will shut down the beta again at the end of May 9, making way for its release within the month. The game will feature over 21 playable heroes each with their unique skills and special abilities.
The game has also met with several controversies as Blizzard has removed Tracer's signature "Over the Shoulder" pose in "Overwatch" due to one player from the community forums complained about it due it being overly sexualized and the character might become another bland of female "sex symbol" to the public were as the character is described as fun, kindness, teamwork, silliness, and speed.
"Overwatch" is scheduled to be release on May 24 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
