New details for "Tekken 7" will feature clarification on the game's exclusivity for the PlayStation 4 and rumors of "Tekken X Street Fighter" no longer in development.
An article posted by GameStop stated that the latest version of "Tekken 7" called "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" is going to be exclusive only to the PS4 console. However, the article was removed by GameStop as "Tekken" brand community advisor Mark Julio stated that the article was "inaccurate", WCCFTech reported.
Julio confirmed that GameStop's article has been taken down for its "inaccuracy and weirdness", which contradicts game designer Michael Murray's statement that "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" will be available for the PS4 console as of now. Murray added that it was up to the upper management's decision if they will allow "Tekken 7" to be release in other video game consoles, even if they liked the idea of having it in the Xbox One console.
Bandai Namco's collaboration with Nintendo over "Pokken Tournament" has been subject of a possibility that they might allow "Tekken 7" on the Wii U, not to mention adding the game to its new console, Nintendo NX. It is also hinted that a PC version of "Tekken 7" could be in the works as an online survey urgers gamers if they wanted sequel in the platform.
"Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" will feature updates game features and characters from the previous version of the game, as well as adding new fighters such as Nina Williams and Akuma from "Street Fighter" franchise.
The current members of "Tekken 7's" roster include Jin, Kazuya, Heihachi, Hwoarang, Steve Fox, Asuka, Lili, Xiaoyu, Marshall Law, Paul Phoenix, King, Yoshimitsu, Bryan Fury, Feng Wei, Dragunov, Leo, Lars, Alisa, Nina Williams, Claudio Serafino, Katarina Alves, Lucky Chloe, Josie Rizal, Jack-7, Gigas, Shaheen, Akuma and Kazumi Mishima.
In other news, it seems that second crossover game from Bandai Namco and Capcom, "Tekken X Street Fighter" will not be in development anymore.
"Tekken" game producer Katsuhiro Harada told Gamespot that "Tekken X Street Fighter" is no longer active in its development as Harada explained that making the game could "fracture" the audiences of both fighting franchises.
Harada added that the gamers who are loyal to both "Street Fighter" and "Tekken" have been proved difficult for them to announce a release date window for "Tekken X Street Fighter", and so it was decided that the crossover will be put "on hold" for now.
For now, "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" will be release in arcades on July as the launch date for the console versions has not been revealed.
"Tekken 7" will be available for the PS4 and Xbox One consoles.
