Xiaomi has released a teaser image of its imminent Mi Max Android handset that shows a small portion of the device sticking out of a jeans pocket, hinting that the device might not feature a 6.4-inch screen as previously rumored.
Even though the image does not show much, it has displayed the details of the size of the phone, exhibiting how well it fits in a jeans pocket. According to Miui blog post, information shows that Mi Max can, in fact, be put into a pocket without any problems.
Through the image, Xiaomi has cleverly hinted that the next device it is going to unveil might not feature a 6.4-inch screen after all. Recently, enthusiasts caught a glimpse of Xiaomi Mi Max at GFXBench performance testing website, after which they went ahead to conclude that the device could include a 6.4-inch full HD display.
Nevertheless, the latest teaser image shows something different from what many renders have been creating. Some mobile analysts are now hypothesizing that the word "Max" could mean another thing and not the size of the device.
For instance, it is being said that "Max" might indicate the high capacity battery that the device will have. Based on the monikers of other rival branded devices, like the Asus Zenfone Max, which carries a massive 5,000mAh battery, analysts suspect that the same might go for the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Max.
However, this is only a speculation and Mi Max fans should take it with a grain of salt. Furthermore, the Mi Max model seen at the GFX Bench might be one of the prototypes that were tested by the company before rounding up on the specifications of the final model.
Other details visible from the teaser image are the front-facing camera, Mi Max's earpiece, chamfered metal edges, and what appears to be an ambient light sensor. According to Android Authority, the most noticeable change in Mi Max is the absence of the Mi logo at the front.
Besides these, more rumored features of the Xiaomi Mi Max include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 60 hexacore processor, Adreno 510, a 16MP primary camera, a 5MP front snapper, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of inbuilt storage.
