Speculations are rife that Samsung may release the Android Marshmallow update for the Samsung Galaxy A-series, particularly for the Galaxy A7 and A5.
According to Sam Mobile, Samsung Galaxy A5 and A7 were recently spotted running the Android Marshmallow update. This led to rumors that Samsung may release the latest operating system update for other mid-range Galaxy A series devices.
The model number of Samsung Galaxy A5, which was spotted running on Android Marshmallow is SM-A510F. The update was released for this device on April 21, according to Wifi Certifications.
Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy A-series devices were launched with Android Lollipop as their operating system. Android Marshmallow may be the last operating system update for these devices, as they are unlikely to get the upcoming Android N.
Moreover, as Samsung Galaxy A7 and A5 were spotted running the Android Marshmallow update, so it is hoped that other A series members such as Galaxy A3 and A9 will also get the update. As these smartphones have very similar hardware, so the update may be released to them as well.
Samsung Galaxy A3 2016 and Galaxy A9 2016 models also have support for optical image stabilization, Samung Pay and fingerprint scanning, thus it is quite possible that the Android Marshmallow update may be released to these devices, albeit a bit late compared to other top-line devices.
On the other hand, various network carriers such as T-Mobile, Sprint, US Cellular and Verizon have also released the Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update for other Samsung devices, such as Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. Only AT&T has not released any information about the release schedule, as yet.
Furthermore, Android Marshmallow is power packed with numerous interesting features. It includes the ability for the developers to play around with Chrome, there is also a better app-to-app communication which allows for a smooth run of the UI, and there is also the new power management feature which enables the device to be used for much longer and be less prone to getting heated up.
