Fans have anticipated what Idris Elba would play in the next installment of the "Star Trek" movies, "Star Trek Beyond." Fortunately, it has been confirmed that the "Beasts of No Nation" actor will play the character of Krall, which is said to be a Gorn assassin.

It was the Empire magazine who revealed Elba's role in the upcoming "Star Trek Beyond" movie. As Krall, "Luther" fame will reportedly be a blue-faced alien who chose to be violent against the Federation's ideals.

Elba has been very silent with his involvement in the anticipated "Star Trek" film, and although Empire magazine already broke the news that he will be playing the antagonist of the upcoming movie, he still opted to be quite about it during his interview with Entertainment Weekly. Hence, the Hollywood actor chose to talk about Captain Kirk, which happens to be his favorite character in the franchise. The actor said that whenever the crew faces a serious danger, Kirk was always the coolest of them all.

On the other hand, Justin Lin, the film's director exposed that the upcoming film "Star Trek Beyond" will be different from the previous installments. The director added that deconstructing the idea of "Star Trek" may be the goal of the next movie, cites Empire magazine.

Simon Pegg, who happens to be the film's co-writer and one of the stars of the upcoming movie, teased the fans during the CinemaCon convention last week. He said that they have been exploring on the possible weapons that the NX vessel should have. He added that the movie will be much more different than the recent "Star Trek" films. With that said, Pegg may have confirmed what the film's director noted during an interview with the Empire magazine.

It is expected that "Star Trek Beyond" will be released by July 22. As the premiere date coming in fast, it would be safe to say that in the coming days or weeks, more updates about "Star Trek Beyond" will break out.
