The 2015-2016 Serie A season has already crowned itself a champion but the battle for the Champions League and Europa League qualifying berths and climbing out of relegation is still on with three matchdays left. Contending team AC Milan (14-10-11, 53 points) and bottom three squad Frosinone Calcio (8-21-6, 30 points) are engaged in such battles and they meet at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on May 1st, Sunday.

AC Milan is at the sixth spot of the current league table, possessing the last Europa League berth but only a point above seventh-running team Sassuolo and five points ahead of eight-placed club Chievo.

The last three games will be crucial for the reeling Il Diavolo, who had been winless in seven of their last eight matches, if they want to keep their qualifying spot at the end of the season.

I Rossoneri is coming off a highly disappointing 1-2 loss to relegated cellar-dwelling squad Hellas Verona at the Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi on Monday, as per Goal.

Milan netted the opening goal of the contest at the 21st minute with a strike from forward Jeremy Menez, but the hosts scored the last two goals late in the match, at the 72nd and in injury time, courtesy of Giampaolo Pazzini and Luca Siligardi.

Meanwhile, Frosinone is in the thick of the relegation battle, falling to fellow bottom three squad Palermo, 0-2, at their home ground of Stadio Matusa last Sunday, as reported by ESPN.

The Rosanero's Alberto Gilardino and Aleksandar Trajkovski scored the two goals for the visitors at the 56th and 90th+2 minutes of the game.

With the loss, the Canarini is now two points behind Palermo and second-to-the-last place of the current league table. Bottom dwellers Verona, who are five points below Frosinone, is already officially relegated to the Serie B.

The last three games of manager Roberto Stellone's squad are against Milan, Sassuolo, and Napoli, all contending teams in the season.

The predicted result is a close 1-0 decision for AC Milan.
