Latest rumors circulating on the Internet suggest that aside from the much speculated "upgraded" Xbox One console, Microsoft may also announce a new hardware at the company's press event at E3 this year.
Microsoft is expected to ship a new standard controller with the upgraded Xbox One, and the design of new controller will possibly be similar to the existing one. However, it may come in a different color, possibly white, with a view to boost sales, Thurrott reported.
Aside from an improved standard controller, Microsoft is also said to be exploring a new interface between the PC and the Xbox One to extend the already existing game streaming capabilities between the two devices. Keeping in view Microsoft's desires to develop the Windows 10 on the desktop and Xbox One a 'killer combination, the tech company is keen to influence the ecosystem to produce unique experiences for games that are also available on other platforms.
Microsoft expects that though the idea is simple, even for non-exclusive games, it will work with Xbox One as well as PC titles to deliver a unique gaming experience. Moreover, the company is of the view that its rival PlayStation will not be able to emulate.
According to reports, Microsoft has other plans too. The tech company is expected to offer something that is likely to be much bigger compared to the updated standard controller. Perhaps, it could be a take on the much rumored PlayStation 4K. There are rumors that Microsoft may make another, much larger hardware-related announcement at the E3 this year.
Earlier, speaking at the Microsoft Build 2016 conference, Microsoft's Xbox boss Phil Spencer said that they are not interested in minor upgrades to its current-gen console, but prefer substantial upgrades that would make some difference to customers, First Post reported. He mentioned that they are not much in favor of an Xbox One 1.5. If they need to move forward, they would prefer to move forward in big numbers, Spencer added.
