The interview of rapper Bryan Williams, who is professionally known as Birdman, with "The Breakfast Club" on New York's Power 105.1 on April 22 became controversial when he ended the interview early. Recently, Charlamagne Tha God revealed that the Cash Money entrepreneur was listening to Eminem's "Lose Yourself" before the interview.

"He comes to the radio station," Charlamagne Tha God said of Birdman in an interview with "The Brilliant Idiots Podcast." "I see him when he walks in. I'm watching him through the glass for like 30 seconds."

"This is no lie," Charlamagne Tha God added. "Eminem's 'Lose Yourself' was playing."

Released on Oct. 28, 2002, "Lose Yourself" won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2003 as well as the Best Rap Song and Best Rap Solo Performance at the Grammy Awards in 2004. Eminem wrote the song and co-produced it with Jeff Bass.

"Lose Yourself" was from the soundtrack to the Eminem starrer "8 Mile," which was written by Scott Silver and directed by Curtis Hanson. The semi-biographical drama film also starred Michael Shannon, Mekhi Phifer, Kim Basinger and the late Brittanny Murphy.

Charlamagne Tha God said that he did not know where the "Lose Yourself" music was coming from, whether it was in Birdman's headphones or on the radio. However, the former said he was sure that the hit Eminem song was playing.

As soon as "The Breakfast Club" interview started, Birdman was not willing to exchange words with Charlamagne Tha God and his co-hosts DJ Envy and Angela Yee. The rapper and entrepreneur told the hosts, "I'm telling all three of y'all to stop playing with my name."

"Stop playing with my f---ing name," Birdman said. Yee was seen furrowing her eyebrows afterwards.

Charlamagne Tha God then asked Birdman about what exactly he was upset about. However, the latter did not answer and after less than two minutes in the studio, he put on his shades and before leaving the show with his squad, he said, "I ain't got no more talkin.'"
