Apple could reveal and release at the same time the MacBook Pro 2016 at its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June, and the latest solid indicator that this will be case is the ongoing Best Buy deal that dangles the 13.3 MacBook Pro 2015 with discount of up to $270.
The specific model that is subject of the Best Buy sale boasts of 8GB RAM and 512GB of flash storage, which Apple originally sells for $1999. Opting for the Best Buy promo will shave off the price by $100 but buyers willing to get the Open Box units stand to save $270 plus.
Asking price for the Open Box - new and unused MacBooks but were unboxed for display purposes - starts at around $1729. Cash damage for the regular unit, all-sealed, is $1899 so for most buyers the choice is easy.
All units come with Apple warranty and free delivery, which Best Buy has assured will be quick as shipping movement promptly starts the next business day following the completion of purchase. Buyers can also get the product on the same day purchase but this option is for store pick-ups.
The retail giant also displays MacBook Air deals, which further fire up the speculations that Apple and its selling partners are working double time to clear the existing MacBook inventory, which indicates that the touchdown of the 2016 refresh is quite near.
TechnoBuffalo said that all eyes are on the June 2016 that starts on the 13th for the new MacBook revelation, which likely will also involve the actual release of the device. But the tech news site is quick to add that the MacBook Air will not get a 2016 sequel, meaning the launch will only be for the MacBook Pro in 13-inch and 15-inch screen sizes.
The new models will represent a total design overhaul from the immediate predecessor - slimmer, lighter and mostly based on the 12-inch MacBook 2016 that Apple has issued recently. The same TechnoBuffalo report agrees with analysts' forecast that Intel Skylake chip will be on board with the upcoming MacBooks, working in tandem with a new OS X version.
And on release date, the OS X on the MacBook Pro 2016 will be renamed as MacOS. Among the new things to expect from the operating system is Siri on Mac, which essentially is Apple's answer to Microsoft Windows 10's Cortana.
