Motorola might be unveiling their new Moto X 2016 flagship phone soon as they will be holding a May event in New Delhi. In addition, information about the phone's specs and design have been leaked.
There hasn't been any official announcement yet from Motorola regarding their new phone. However, it doesn't stop the Internet from providing information of the phone's possible specs and such.
Reliable leaker Evan Blass, or also known as @evleaks on Twitter (NASDAQ: TWTR), has posted several photos of what seems to be a new phone from Motorola. Evan said that it was the Moto G4 Plus but it could also be the Moto X 2016 as there is no official confirmation yet from the company.
One Motorola Facebook (NASDAQ: FB) page has even posted several images that are allegedly the Moto X 2016 and the Moto G 2016, according to Gigjets. In the photos, it could be seen that there have been colored casings which could mean that the new phones would also be customizable to some extent.
Speaking of which, the customizable Moto X 2014 is currently on sale at the official Motorola website for only $200. The model being sold is the one with 32 GB internal storage.
Customers can still apply what customizations they desire on the phone. In addition, the low base price would hopefully urge them to upgrade to the 64 GB model for just an added $50.
Unfortunately, not all designs are now available for the Moto X 2014, according to Tech Times. It could be a good sign as it means they are already pacing out the phone to make way for newer ones.
The newer models could be the Moto X 2016. Specs of the said phone were spotted on a Geekbench benchmark result with the model number XT1650.
If the leaked benchmark is true, the new phone from Motorola could hold some serious specs. Of course, it would run Android 6.0.1 out of the box.
The Moto X 2016 could feature a Qualcomm processor, most likely the Snapdragon 820 with four cores running at 1.58 GHz. For the RAM, the new phone seems to pack in 4GB which puts it on par with other flagship devices such as the recently launched HTC 10 and the Samsung Galaxy S7.
Motorola could unveil the Moto X 2016 at their May 17 event in New Delhi. However, the release date is expected to be around September.
